Turn off "Who is online?"

Hi,
how can I use the "Who is Online?" turn off? Hackers tried to hack their accounts based on the displayed users.
As a result, the regular users were blocked due to too many unsuccessful registrations.

That's why I want the usernames no longer to be visible.
