preg_match(): Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 1 in… wp-includes/class-wp.php

Page 1 of 2Next

Hello, Asgaros works well until yesterday but today I have two alert lines before header:

Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 1 in /home/cpiutv/club/club/wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 218

I desactivate all plugins and themes, I changed permalinks as I saw on the net.

I have all my themes, plugins in last version.

Thank you for help

Hello @yerboutix

Have you made any changes (applied some updates for example) before the problem started?

You can try if going to Settings -> Permalinks -> Save Changes fixes this issue.

Hello and thank you for the answer.
That’s strange, I’ve never seen that before!
All themes and extensions disabled, the problem persists. So I created a new site, with my theme and only Asgaros enabled. The problem came back when I imported the pages. I deleted the pages, the problem persisted. I then deleted the users who had created themselves when importing the pages and “miracle” the problem disappeared.
I’m here, due to time constraints, all I have to do now is identify the culprit ☺ !

I take this opportunity to ask you if my English is correct, I use the DeepL translator.

Hello @yerboutix

This is very strange. Maybe something went wrong with the data during the import/export process. But I am glad to hear that everything is working well now.

Your english is perfectly fine – I can understand it very well. 🙂

Hello @asgaros,
So DeepL is a good translator!
I didn’t have time to identify the cause of the bug, but bad news, I just noticed the same problem on another of my sites. It is built with the same theme and roughly the same extensions, but there are no registered users.
As soon as I have time to search, and especially to find, I will indicate it here.
Am I the only one with the problem?
Sincerely

Hello,
I have the same error:

1st line …/wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 222
and
2nd line …/wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 223

I disable the Asgaros Forum and if going to Settings -> Permalinks -> Save Changes, everything is okay

If I activate the Asgaros Forum again, the problem is there

Where does it come from ?

Addendum:
Problem solved … A link was set wrong !!!!!

Hello @jz

I am glad to hear that its working again. Can you tell me some details about the wrong link? Maybe I can improve some steps so that those problems will not occur anymore in the future.

Hello,

I have te same problem. I disabled all plugins reset permalinks then set custom. Everything worked. I was enabling plugins 1 by 1 and checking website. asgaros was last plugin and after enabling this Warning shows again. It only appears on 3 pages from 6.

Hello @kaesen

Can you post the exact error-message and example-links on which the issue occurs?
