facebook post sharing issue – Page 2 – Support

Little update:

I just added the required functionality to the development-version which tries to get an image from the first post of a topic to set the og:image-tag. This enhancement will be included in the upcoming update.

we all have yoast seo, i used yoast seo social facebook metatag names, and upload content pictures, and forum can’t fetching this infoprmation you need to find issue and fix it, i know some forum post havn’t picture but, if any post have, image can’t fetching in social network, this is bed 🙁 if you can fix it.

It has been fixed in the development-version and will be available as soon as I release v1.14.5 (planned for next week).

If you need the update asap, you can download a development-version here and replace the files with a ftp-application on your server manually:

Same problem here. Facebook (or WhatsApp etc.) just showing the title and description of the main site but not the name of the thread or posting! 😉

it’s me again. 😉 Here is a screenshot from trying to share a link to the forum to my facebook group.

Is there a little chance to change the preview title to thread/topic title instead of main page title?

EDIT: Could it be that this issue came from the “Yoast SEO” Plugin?

Asgaros Forum usually takes care of generating the correct meta-tags because other plugins cannot know how the content-generation in the forum-plugin looks like. If you can disable Yoast for the forum-page only, then this should help. I will also check if I can improve the compatibility.

Edit: I just figured out that Yoast changed their API again (third time). This issue will be fixed in the next update.

How can i disable the YOAST for the forum site?

Hello @pegelzwo

The issue should be fixed with the latest update. If not, I suggest you to contact the Yoast support-team which should know on how to disable the plugin on certain pages.
