Can't set admin/moderator

I cannot set a forum admin/moderator. When viewing user roles, that option does not appear for any users.

The file mikev is my user profile. I am an admin on the site and by default (I assume) was made an admin on the forum.

The file spark is a user with the editor site role. They need to be forum moderator/admin, but there is no option showing.

The dropdown for changing the forum-role should be visible to all users who have the manage_options capability in WordPress. Did you somehow modify your capabilities? Normal administrators should definitely see those options.

No @asgaros, the manage_options capability is selected for both of the users shown in the above screenshot.

Is it possible that the user spark for some reason has the manage_options capability as well?

Yes, there are a few users who have manage_options capabilities. Including all four admins, one editor, and another custom role – human resources. None have the option to select a forum role though. @asgaros

Hello @promedia

If the user already has this capability, then the plugin assumes that this is already an administrator. Usually only administrators have this capability – modifying the default-capabilities will then lead to those issues.

Thank you, @asgaros.

I temporarily removed the manage_options capability from the user that needed to be a forum admin. After disabling that capability I was able to select Administrator as their forum role. I appreciate you helping me figure this out.

Where can I customize, where the user can moderate?

I can only choose moderator yes or no…
